TL:DR. Also a possibility of TMI. To get this clear, usually I am 9 times out of 10 quite content with the way I look and my clothes and all. I feel confident that I won't make a cat laugh when it looks at me, and I like myself a lot. It took me years to get to this point in my life, and I'm glad I finally made it.
However, tonight I stopped off at Target and tried on some dresses. While in the changing room there were mirrors both front and back, so yeah, I got an eyeful indeed. Not so pleased with what I saw from the rear. Felt a wave of revulsion and shame. Why? What my thighs look like has absolutely NOTHING to do with what kind of person I am, my sense of humor, my honor/integrity/compassion, my likes/dislikes and well, anything at all about me. I really am quite healthy and I feel great.
I struggled for a bit more, then built a bridge and got over it. I am NOT defined by my shape or looks. I am defined by my spirit. I have begun this week to walk the stairs as much as possible throughout the workday and I know that this will assist in keeping me healthy. Healthy, happy, enjoying life, and wishing the same for all the women I know.
just some ramblings, as I said, TL:DR.

Making Progress
I am loving this yarn. It slides through the fingers with a silky feel, even tho it's 100% cotton. It is luscious.
Working on the increase rows now, won't be long until I can start the back piece, and then on to the lace portions. I really like lace. :)
Oklahoma Strong!
Tornadoes ripped through Moore and surrounding areas yesterday, and the conditions are still favorable for more. My daughter and family are safe, but we know friends who have lost everything. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.

Picking up and carrying on
It's time to get back to basics. Life should contain more knitting, time with friends and family, and activities. For me, activities include different things: going out to trivia night at the pub with my hubby, trying new restaurants and seeing new places in our still newish area of the country, enjoying a night in watching our favorite TV shows while knitting......
This blog was going gang busters when it started, but withered when Ravelry and Facebook came along. It's going to thrive again. So, Finnigan, begin again!
Here are some of the items off my needles in the last months.

Thumb Gusset rawks
I've always used the afterthought thumb method when making gloves because the gusset looked hard and difficult. That's really no excuse not to try a new pattern though. And therefore I took the plunge. I actually knitted a thumb gusset. The world didn't end, the stars didn't fall, and the thumb gusset worked marvelously!!!
I finished my Storm socks in the Fawkes pattern. So scrumptious!

Color shift
I just noticed that on this computer monitor, the sock I'm displaying a post or two ago looks to be different colors. The second, grayer, stormier, looking sock is the proper color. The first picture all of a sudden looks too green to me.
