Baby Vest

I finished the little boy vest, except for the fasteners. Can't figure out what I want to use: toggles, buttons, frog closures, snaps... It'll come to me.

I machine washed and dried the vest made from Simply Cotton. I'm really pleased with how the stitches came out. Where the stitches used to have "air" between them they are now plump, cushy, and closer together. The fabric feels firmer, as well. There was a little bit of length shrinkage, as expected with this yarn: 11" before washing, resulting in 10" afterward.

My Mitts on TV

This is so cool. Mine are the last pair of White Witch mitts to be shown, the rust colored ones. Euney mentions that they are a little bit bigger than the pattern called for. This was by design as I picked up stitches on the inside and attached a finger liner for each mitten out of Palette, thus doubling the layers against the wind and cold for my fingers.

She's Here!

Welcome, little Hailey Jo! I found out today that you made your world debut on June 5, Friday morning about 9:45. You weighed in at 8 lbs and measured 20 inches. I hear you have a head full of black hair, just like your daddy did when he was born.

Ah, the world can be a grand place! What an exciting time to be born, so many wonders ahead of you. Here's wishing you nothing but the best and lots of love to see you through your life.

Little Man's Vest

I've finished the left and right vest fronts, and am now on the back. I want to use wooden toggle buttons for closure, but can't decide yet if I want that front to overlap a bit, or just meet. Time for that decision still. Here's hoping my sizing will be about right, as I'd like it to fit in the English springtime, or about April-ish.

Love that cable, and it's so easy!

Off they go

I've mailed off the two little sweaters for my niece in Texas, she's due to be born this month. Now I'm working on a kinda my design/kinda adapted from book design for my nephew due in October in the UK. Pics soon.

Once it's done I'll use stash to knit up bibs and such for both kiddos. Fun fun fun!! :)
