All moved in

Yesterday, Hubby and I helped our son move into his apartment for college. He's a junior this year, has done both the dorm/frat house gigs, and decided that this year he'd like a place of his own. The apartment is about 600 sq ft, very clean and nice, and I think he'll do just fine there.






He and his dad put together a tv stand unit.























He took his bed from home, but decided against the headboard that matches the chest of drawers.



No dinette set yet, but he may actually eat at the coffee table.




The kitchen is tiny, but how much room does he really need? I couldn't believe how clean the oven and fridge were!! The whole apartment was more than acceptable.





(Dad relaxing after the move.) This couch was donated to the cause by Roger's girlfriend's family. She and they are so very nice, we like them a lot. They're good people.

I'm so excited for Roger. This is a big step in his life: having to make a budget to pay bills on time (rent, utilities, then food, in that order), having his own space, answering to himself only. While it can be kinda overwhelming, what an adventure this will be!!!

Kid at Christmas

My Hubby's iPhone has arrived, and he's like the kid on Christmas morning, waiting for the okay to rip into his presents. He can't pick it up immediately -- he has wait until after 5:30 p.m. -- and a greater agony has yet to be experienced by man.

In about two hours though, he'll be holding the Holy Grail of Phonage in his hands; the clouds will break and a celestial host will appear in full voice, a spear of light will pierce its way through the heavens to illumine the Relic, and all will be right in the world.

Cobblestone completed

Whew, an intensive push this last weekend, while watching copious quantities of Olympics, saw the completion of my son's sweater, the Cobblestone Pullover by Jared Flood. It still needs to be blocked, but I'll get pics of it on the body tonight, for posting later.

I'm very very pleased with how it all came out!

Been busy

(This is very good practice on my tension. Holding the yarns in two hands is no problem, but the tension – yikes I need some work using this Palette yarn. The Telemark didn’t seem to give me as many issues.)

Knitted with Fearless Fibers Antique Rose laceweight merino colorway, it turned out to be approximately 8" x 31". It's a shorter version of the original pattern, which will fit my stepmom better than something longer. She doesn't seem like the kind of person to fuss with things and I felt a longer scarf would be a bother.







Also, the first of the Christmas gifts for son's girlfriend?

I thought it appropriate that I head this post in German, since the scarf I finished and blocked last night was written by a German lady, and named Wabenschal. It's pinned out and looking great; pics to follow.

Jury duty again today, hope I get released.



Edit: nope, not released from jury duty. Oh well. When I got home I had just enough time to take pics of Wabenschal blocking -- hopefully tomorrow I'll get home a bit sooner and can get some "action" photos.
